Final Puzzle Piece For The John Lennon Mind Games Campaign Unveiled

The final puzzle piece for the John Lennon Mind Games campaign is a 'Through The Looking Glass Onion' immersive interactive fiction adventure called Escape To Nutopia, where you are John Lennon, awakening in the master bedroom of The Dakota, trying to figure out what to do with your day.

Partly inspired by text-based computer games like Infocom’s "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" and the pioneering "Colossal Cave Adventure," the experience digs deeply and authentically into John & Yoko’s home life, based on thousands of hours of archival research and multimedia evidence. It plays with the nature of perceived realities, memory, time, dreams and illusions whilst remaining deeply grounded in their art, music and history.

The game is a conceptual realization of people "playing those Mind Games together" as written by Lennon on the title track of his 1973 album, recently remixed and released in a new Grammy-nominated Ultimate Collection.

The game is a collaboration between the John Lennon Estate and Loud Beings.

Steven Wilson's 'Home Invasion: In Concert At The Royal Albert Hall' Coming to 4K

David Gilmour Releases 'The Piper’s Call Live Around The World'

Jon Anderson & The Band Geeks Announce Live CD/DVD Release

Rick Wakeman Adds Additional Shows For 2025

In 2023, famed keyboardist Rick Wakeman CBE, announced that his 2024 tours of solo piano concerts would be his last. Wakeman, who has become almost as well-known for his intimate piano shows as his prog rock extravaganzas, had decided that after a career spanning over 50 years, he would be calling a halt to lengthy American one-man show tours, in order to concentrate on composing, recording and collaborating with other musicians.

However, after receiving an offer to take part in the latest of the highly popular Cruise To The Edge, he couldn’t resist adding more dates to include some of the venues he couldn’t fit into his schedule in 2024. 

Audiences can expect an evening of highlights from his career with Yes and his solo work, including the new 30-minute instrumental work Yessonata, featuring Yes themes and melodies, woven into sonata form, which he wrote especially for the final tour.

“I always planned to stop touring by my 77th birthday - for those of you who wish to send me a card, it’s 18th May! - but there is so much to fit in before then that I’m having to make plans now and so my final one-man shows will have to cease by that date," Wakeman said in a statement. “I have thoroughly enjoyed performing the various one-man shows, but it’s time to call it a day. I intend to throw in the best of what I have done in the past, plus a few new surprises on the way, and possibly even the odd guest joining me on the odd occasion.

“The plan is not to perform at the same venue twice throughout this period, so whatever venue you are hopefully thinking of coming to, it will be the last performance there - and I am taking this opportunity of thanking everyone and anyone who has supported me over the last 53 years!”

Styx & Kevin Cronin Announce 'Brotherhood Of Rock' Tour For 2025

 

Styx and Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon will join forces next summer for the sixth time for their “Brotherhood of Rock” tour, along with special guest Don Felder (formerly of the Eagles). The tour kicks off May 28, 2025 in Greenville, SC at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

 

Fans will hear such hits as “Renegade,” “Keep On Loving You,” “Come Sail Away,” “Can't Fight This Feeling,” and “Hotel California.”

 

Styx and Kevin Cronin (as part of REO Speedwagon) first toured together in 2000 and in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks, they came together to form the Rock to the Rescue 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, which still collects donations for local charities at every stop on Styx’s on-going tour.

 

General tickets for the trek, produced by Live Nation, will go on sale starting Friday, December 13 at 10am local time on LiveNation.com. 'Becoming Led Zeppelin’ Documentary Coming To IMAX in February

 

Becoming Led Zeppelin, the long-awaited documentary that chronicles the origins and meteoric rise of the iconic Led Zeppelin is finally coming to the big screen in 2025.

Sony Picture Classics, which acquired the film earlier this year, plans to release Becoming Led Zeppelin only in Imax on Feb. 7. Ahead of the release on roughly 200 theaters, Imax will hold early access screenings in 18 markets on Feb. 5.

“The cinematic power of Imax paired with the film’s authentic sound creates an immersive and transportive viewing experience letting audiences feel like they are there, in the venues with the band,” the film’s director Bernard MacMahon said in a statement.

Becoming Led Zeppelin explores their origins with never-before-seen footage and commentary from the notoriously private band, consisting of Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham. Described as a “hybrid docu-concert” movie, the doc also includes rare, unseen performances including concert halls of Led Zeppelin’s nascent tours. Becoming Led Zeppelin, as the title suggests, does not include the their entire career but focuses on the band’s formation in the 1960s. According to a press release, the documentary is “told in Led Zeppelin’s own words and is the first officially sanctioned film on the group.”

“We spent five years flying back and forth across the Atlantic scouring attics and basements in pursuit of rare and unseen film footage, photographs and music recordings,” writer-producer Allison McGourty said. “Then we transferred each piece of media with custom techniques, so that in Imax, these 55-year-old clips and music would look and sound like they came out of the lab yesterday.”

A work-in-progress version of Becoming Led Zeppelin premiered at Venice Film Festival in 2021. In Variety’s review, chief film critic Owen Gleiberman praised the “extraordinary footage” in the doc but felt it catered too much to the band’s perspective. “Becoming Led Zeppelin is full of essential stuff,” he wrote, “but on some level it feels like a Led Zeppelin infomercial.”

Tom Bernard, co-president and co-founder of Sony Pictures Classics, believes Becoming Led Zeppelin will be “inspirational to young people and legacy defining for generations to come.”

“I had a mind-blowing experience seeing Led Zeppelin for the first time in August 1969 at the Texas International Pop Festival in Grapevine, Texas and it has stayed with me ever since,” Bernard said. “I cannot think of a single movie that more brilliantly draws you into an artist’s story, shows you how their music was made, and makes you experience it as if it was brand new.”
