Chrysalis Records are reissuing UFO’s classic 1980 album No Place To Run, newly remastered from the original production tapes transfers at AIR Mastering and reissued on stunning three LP tri-fold sleeve 180gm vinyl and double-CD Digipak formats on August 15th, 2025.
No Place To Run was the eighth studio album by UFO and the first with Paul Chapman on guitar, following the departure of Michael Schenker. It was produced by legendary Beatles producer George Martin and recorded at his newly launched AIR Studios in Montserrat in the Caribbean, a stark difference from the bands’ usual surroundings. Check out the 2025 remaster of "Young Blood" from No Place To Run below.
Reflecting on the album 45 years later, singer Phil Mogg said: “The thing that sticks in my mind from recording ‘No Place To Run’ was the complete miss match with UFO / George Martin (who was a lovely chap) and nothing summed it up more than when George would say to Geoff (sound engineer): ‘Well Geoff, it’s six o’clock, time for a G&T out on the veranda.’ How very civilized!”
The reissue includes a new and previously unreleased mix of Live At The Marquee, London, November 16th 1980, mixed by revered engineer Brian Kehew from the original multi-track tapes, giving a powerfully fresh sound. Only three tracks have ever been officially released before ("Lettin’ Go," "Mystery Train," and "No Place to Run"). The other 11 tracks from this legendary show have not been available until now. The set will take fans right back to the electric atmosphere of the Marquee, with a band at the very top of their game.
Brian Kehew said: “Paul Chapman’s guitar sound here is really superb, a thick and singing B.C.Rich-into-Marshall tone… No Place To Run is certainly a special time for the band, the peak of their public acceptance. With the music world shifting into new wave and synth-pop around them, they stayed true to their roots and delivered yet another classic album.” (quote taken from liner notes)
Both formats feature new liner notes by Michael Hann featuring interviews with front-man vocalist Phil Mogg and drummer Andy Parker.
Jethro Tull has announced a reissue of the compilation album Living In The Past with a new 5CD/Blu-Ray format. Originally released in 1972, the album is a collection of singles, album tracks and outtakes which charted across the world. The newly expanded edition, Still Living In The Past, features Steven Wilson remixes, edits, demos, Live at Carnegie Hall 1970 (Steve Wilson remix) and four promo films. Also available is a double LP edition of the double album featuring Steven Wilson remixes. The set releases on July 11.
“After 53 years since its original issue, this collection with the Steven Wilson re-mixes and surround sound upgrades is a splendid addition to the Tull album series," says Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson. "It was conceived at the time primarily to update the Tull story for US and European audiences who might not have had the benefit of the many songs which had already reached UK fans’ ears.
"I recall the recordings of many of these songs with surprising clarity and some I can still play from memory without a moment of hesitation. Quirky in some instances and covering a range of musical styles, it shows off my attempts to broaden my writing and arranging and develop beyond the more rocky and bluesy origins of the band. My mandolin and acoustic guitar tracks are amongst my personal favorites."
Consisting of singles A-sides and B-sides plus a variety of songs including the EP "Life Is A Long Song,” Still Living In The Past brings together the many tracks recorded between the releases of the first three albums and the album Thick As A Brick. The live concert recorded at Carnegie Hall in NYC reflects the band performance in all its 1970 glory.

July 9th marks original AC/DC singer Bon Scott's birthday. If he were alive today, he would be turning 79. To celebrate, the Second Annual Official Bon Scott Birthday Bash will take part on July 9th at the Bowery Electric in NYC. The event will feature Living Colour's Corey Glover, Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Peter Shaw, and Cactus' Jimmy Kunes, among many others. Special guest openers Ravagers. Tickets can be purchased at TicketWeb.
The Bon Scott Estate, along with their exclusive merchandising partner Perryscope Productions, will also celebrate with a series of new collaborations with Knucklebonz, Dixxon Flannels, Collectionzz Posters, and Jungle Merchandise in Australia. All info can be found at bonscottofficial.com.
Additionally, this year marks the 50-year mark since AC/DC's classic debut album, High Voltage – which spawned such all-time classic rock anthems as "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock n' Roll)," "Live Wire," and "TNT," among others. Also, if you caught AC/DC on their current PWRUP tour, you would have been treated to 10 (out of 21) Bon-era songs.
Few rock singers were as unforgettable – and have proved as enduring – as Bon Scott. As the frontman of AC/DC from 1974 until his tragic passing in 1980 (at the age of 33), his “rock n’ roll pirate persona,” street poet lyrics, and striking image (one of the first rockers to proudly sport multiple tattoos) have made him an absolute legend. Additionally, Bon’s vocals were featured in several pre-AC/DC bands, including Fraternity, the Valentines, and the Spektors.
But really, it is the quality of the songs of the “Bon-era” of AC/DC that serve as his greatest legacy – “Highway to Hell,” “Sin City,” “Whole Lotta Rosie,” “Let There Be Rock,” “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”…the list is seemingly endless.
How does Scott measure up to rock’s all-time great frontmen? Classic Rock Magazine declared him “The Greatest Rock n’ Roll Front Man of All Time” in 2004, beating out the lofty likes of Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant, and Axl Rose in the process.
And now the spirit of Bon Scott lives on with the upcoming second annual tribute show.

The Who have announced their bittersweet final tour of the US and Canada as a truly grand finale of their illustrious six-decade career. The duo of Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey (virtually) revealed the news during a press conference at the Iconic Images gallery in Piccadilly, London.
Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend discussed the 2025 series of dates, aptly titled The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour (named after the Who’s 1971 classic song) at a secret press conference in London, which showcased a rare piece of Who memorabilia and U.S. connection, an American football helmet featured on the sleeve of their classic 1974 album, Odds & Sods recently returned from the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame.
Roger Daltrey says: “Every musician's dream in the early 60’s was to make it big in the US charts. For the Who, that dream came true in 1967 and our lives were changed forever. The warmth of the American audiences over the years have been inspirational to me, and reflect the feeling I remember getting after hearing the first rock records coming across the radio. Musical freedom! Rock gave us a feeling of generational rebellion. To me, America has always been great. The cultural differences had a huge impact on me, this was the land of the possible. It's not easy to end the big part of my life that touring with The Who has been. Thanks for being there for us and look forward to seeing you one last time.”
Pete Townshend says: “Well, all good things must come to an end. It is a poignant time. For me, playing to American audiences and those in Canada has always been incredible. The warmth and engagement of those audiences began back in 1967 with hippies smoking dope, sitting on their blankets and listening deeply and intensely. Music was everywhere. We all felt equal. Today, Roger and I still carry the banner for the late Keith Moon and John Entwistle and of course, all of our longtime Who fans. I must say that although the road has not always been enjoyable for me, it is usually easy: the best job I could ever have had. I keep coming back. Every time I do, I meet new fans and feel new energy. Roger and I are in a good place, despite our age, eager to throw our weight behind this fond farewell to all our faithful fans, and hopefully to new ones who might jump in to see what they have been missing for the last 57 years. This tour will be about fond memories, love and laughter. Make sure you join in.”
Tickets will be available starting with a Citi presale and through the Who Fan Club (details below) beginning on Tuesday, May 13. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale beginning on Friday, May 16 at 10:00 AM local time at thewho.com/tour/.

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is set to return to the road for a series of August performances with The Joe Perry Project. The eight-date run kicks off August 13 in Tampa, FL and wraps August 23 in Port Chester, New York, with an August 19 performance in Perry’s Boston hometown.
For the North American trek — which marks the first solo shows for Perry this year — the guitarist will be joined by his Aerosmith bandmates Brad Whitford (guitar) and Buck Johnson (keys), along with The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson (vocals), and Stone Temple Pilots’ Robert DeLeo (bass), and Eric Kretz (drums).
“Well…it’s time to let the music do the talkin again,” Perry said in a statement. “I’m really excited about the JPP line up this year!!!! Most of these guys played with me at The Roxy in L.A. at the debut event for my latest solo album [Sweetzerland Manifesto] in January 2018. They’re all busy as hell but thankfully they’re able to carve out some time for this run. And I’m not only lucky enough to have Brad Whitford onstage with me but Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes! [who sang ‘Fortunate One’ on Sweetzerland Manifesto MKII], Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz from STP!!! and Buck Johnson who plays keys and sings with Aerosmith, the Hollywood Vampires, and is also a solo artist in his own right.”
For the shows, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee says “the set list is gonna include my fav JPP cuts, STP, Black Crowes, and with Brad we’ll be hitting the Aero hits and some deep cuts and then ya never know!!!! Gonna be a BLAST, and if you’ve ever been to one of my shows you know the words GARAGE BAND on STEROIDS come to mind! See you there!!!!”

Guitarist Don Felder, a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer with the Eagles, has released a brand-new single, “I Like The Things You Do,” from his upcoming solo album The Vault-Fifty Years of Music — his first studio project in five years and debut for Frontiers Music Srl. The career-spanning collection featuring re-recorded demos and unreleased gems from his extensive musical journey, including tracks originally submitted for Eagles albums.
A riff-heavy celebration of timeless attraction, “I Like the Things You Do” channels Felder’s signature blend of soaring guitar licks and feel-good groove, delivering a hard-charging rock anthem that nods to his roots while pushing forward with fresh energy. A new song, written as a tribute to his partner Jaden, the track pairs raw vocal swagger with classic, hook-laden musicianship that longtime fans will immediately recognize. Watch the official video below.
The single is a taste of what’s to come on The Vault-Fifty Years of Music, a genre-spanning collection that revisits and reimagines songs pulled from Felder’s own archives. From the bluesy slide guitar of “Move On,” a track first written by Felder in 1974 for inclusion on Eagles’ One of These Nights, to the fiery new version of his iconic “Heavy Metal,” the album blends vintage inspiration with modern production. Collaborators include a who’s-who of rock royalty such as Steve Lukather, David Paich, Greg Phillinganes, Chad Cromwell, Matt & Gregg Bissonette and Nathan East.
The Vault is more than a retrospective—it’s a bold, guitar-fueled statement from an artist still firing on all cylinders after over five decades in the business. Felder, who famously co-wrote “Hotel California,” proves once again why he remains one of the most respected players in rock history.
The multi-talented Felder is also a best-selling New York Times author (Heaven and Hell: My Life in the Eagles), a TV host (the MTV spoof FTV), and a soundtrack composer, having contributed two tracks to Heavy Metal and the score for the 1986 CBS cartoon series Galaxy High. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with artists such as the Bee Gees, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, and Andy Gibb, as well as contributing guitars to Stevie Nicks’ first two solo albums.
Felder remains a relentless creative force, balancing studio work with a packed touring schedule, including this summer’s Brotherhood of Rock tour alongside Styx and Kevin Cronin. See below for current tour itinerary.
