Yes' 'Symphonic Live' To Be Reissued On Blu-ray, CD & LP Packages

For over50 years, Yes has stood at the forefront of rock, defined by their unmatched craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation creating symphonic masterpieces that continue to inspire. On January 23, 2026 Mercury Studios will release Symphonic Live, a 14-song live collection filmed in high definition. Vocalist Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, lead guitarist Steve Howe and drummer Alan White recreated the dramatic intensity of their 2001 album Magnification, the first Yes album without keyboards and the last Yes album with Anderson.

Touring to support of Magnification, they hit the road in 2001 with a new approach to their live set. They brought in the European Festival Orchestra, conducted by Wilhelm Keitel, to add lush new textures to their live set, essentially bringing the spirit of their new album to life on the stage. Not only did they play tracks from Magnification, but re-imagined interpretations of classics such as “Owner Of A Lonely Heart,” “Long Distance Runaround” and “I’ve Seen All Good People.”

Previously released as a double DVD set and single Blu-ray, Symphonic Live highlights the expansive nature of Yes’ music backed with a full symphony orchestra. The special edition reissue of Symphonic Live is packaged in a CD-sized clamshell box including the Blu-ray and CDs, each housed in their own slipcase, along with a booklet, fold-out poster, and five art cards.

The four LP set is pressed on 180-gram vinyl and mastered at half-speed. The nearly half-hour long epic “Ritual (Nous Sommes du Soleil)” is featured on vinyl for the first time. Symphonic Live features seven sides of music, along with an etching on the B-side of  the fourth LP. Extras on the Symphonic Live Blu-ray include the promotional video for “Don’t Go” and a 30-minute documentary called Dreamtime

Nicky Hopkins' 1973 Solo Album, 'The Tin Man Was A Dreamer' To Be Reissued

The family of pianist and 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Nicky Hopkins (1944-94) has announced the official re-release of his 1973 solo album The Tin Man Was A Dreamer, arriving November 8 on vinyl and CD.

Long celebrated for his work with The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Who, and countless others, Hopkins’ full-length solo album The Tin Man Was A Dreamer returns to print after decades out of circulation, released under the restored control of his estate.

The album includes guest players like George Harrison, Mick Taylor (former Rolling Stones' guitarist), Bobby Keys (Rolling Stones' saxophonist) , Ray Cooper (Elton John's percussionist) and more. The reissue coincides with Nicky Hopkins’ induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday, November 8, where he will posthumously receive the Musical Excellence Award, which is given to artists, musicians, songwriters, and producers whose originality and influence have had a dramatic impact on music.

Stream The Tin Man Was A Dreamer

"This is turning out to be a red-letter year for Nicky with his documentary, The Session Man: Nicky Hopkins, being released around the world, his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday, and now, the re-release of his album," said Moira Hopkins, widow of Nicky Hopkins. "The Tin Man Was A Dreamer on vinyl and CD, 32 years after its original release. I am delighted that Nicky is finally getting the recognition he so richly deserves, and that his album will now reach a new audience."

The 2024 documentary The Session Man: Nicky Hopkins, featuring commentary from Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Peter Frampton, Pete Townshend and more, explores the legendary 30-year career of Nicky Hopkins and his contributions to over 250 albums, including John Lennon’s Imagine, The Who’s My Generation, and countless iconic songs like “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker, “Sympathy For The Devil” by The Rolling Stones and “Revolution” by The Beatles.

The Session Man: Nicky Hopkins was written, produced and directed by Mike Treen, who sadly passed away in April 2025 just weeks before the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 2025 was announced. Producer John Wood will carry the film forward and continue to educate the world about the legendary work of Nicky Hopkins.

Producer John Wood: "I am extremely proud, as producer of The Session Man: Nicky Hopkins, to think that the documentary may have contributed towards Nicky receiving rock's highest honor: his induction into the Rock Hall, which he so deserves, and I know Mike Treen would have felt the same."

Classically trained at The Royal Academy of Music, London, Nicky Hopkins could play Rock and Roll piano like nobody else. His legendary piano riffs and dazzling musical motifs helped ordinary tracks become iconic. With a career spanning 30 years until his tragic early death at age 50, he played with some of the greatest bands and artists in the world including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Steve Miller Band, Joe Cocker, Jerry Garcia, Art Garfunkel and many others.

By the late 1960’s, Hopkins was one of the busiest and most successful session players in London. He then joined the Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, which took him to America. He settled in Mill Valley enjoying the free-wheeling San Francisco ‘Bay Area Bands’ and playing at Woodstock with Jefferson Airplane. The 1970’s were his most successful period, commuting across The Atlantic to play with The Stones, John Lennon, and on countless sessions in Los Angeles.

Living with Crohn’s disease since his teens, his ability to tour was limited, although he would manage tours with The Rolling Stones, Joe Cocker and Art Garfunkel. But it was in the recording studio where he became a legend amongst his peers. As Keith Richards recounts, “We were coming up with songs that [were] absolutely beyond Stu’s- let alone capabilities-his dreams! He didn’t want to know! So, I think that Stu called and said, ‘The only guy that can handle this is Nicky Hopkins.’” Hopkins ended up playing on a total of 14 Stones albums.

His story is told in the film by Albert Lee, Antonia Cipollina, Arthur Rochester, Benmont Tench, Bill Wyman, Billy Nicholls, Bro Paul Brown, Chris Kimsey, Chris Welch, Chuck Leavell, Dave Davies, Glyn Johns, Graham Parker, Gray Levett, Greg Phillinganes, Harry Shearer, Helen O’Hara, Jack Casady, Jim Keltner, Joe Tansin, John Goddard, Jorma Kaukonen, Julian Dawson (Nicky’s biographer – author of And on Piano… Nicky Hopkins), Keith Richards, Merrell Fankhauser, Mick Jagger, Mike Hurst, Mike McCartney, Moira Hopkins, Morgan Fisher, Nils Lofgren, Paddy Milner, Pete Edmonds, Pete Sears, Pete Townshend, Peter Frampton, PP Arnold, Rory Kaplan, Sarah Sleet (CEO of Crohn’s & Colitis UK), Shel Talmy, Slim Jim Phantom, Terry Reid and Tom Speight.

The Session Man’s narrator, Bob Harris, former presenter of the BBC’s The Old Grey Whistle Test, had no hesitation in confirming that, “His contributions on their records made him Rock and Roll’s greatest Session Man.”

Toto Announce U.S. Tour For Early 2026

Following this past Summer’s tour with Christopher Cross and Men At Work, Toto will stage a tour presenting the band’s “An Evening With” performance. Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams have curated a new set list for this excursion featuring more than two hours of music nightly. The public on-sale for all appearances cited below other than Montreux Miami is this Friday at 10am local time. For the Miami performance, tickets are available today timed to this announcement.

This past year has been one of the strongest in the band’s 48 years of existence with more than a half a million fans coming out to see them perform, alongside over a billion streams counted this year alone. The weekly average is more than 20 million plays at the DSPs, which has triggered additional certifications throughout this past year. Total streams at Spotify exceed four billion and seven billion across all platforms.

Toto’s largest hit “Africa” has achieved the milestone of two billion plays at Spotify alone, while “Hold The Line” exceeds one billion streams.  On the sales side, “Africa” has been certified Diamond by the RIAA (10 million sold), with cumulative sales now approaching 11 million copies. Additionally, “Hold The Line” has been certified triple platinum for sales of three million copies, while “Rosanna” hit the milestone of double platinum for sales of two million copies.

Cumulative Toto album sales are 50 million plus copies.

For all members past and present, one of the most exciting details to celebrate is the continual aging down of the band’s audience. Consistently, more than half of the billion annual streams are plays from those 34 years or younger. The live audience present night to night has truly become a celebration of three generations coming together.

Individually and collectively the band’s family tree can be heard on countless Grammy Award winning albums across all genres. Toto are one of the few 70’s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles while continuing to remain relevant.

Led by Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams, the band features a collection of lifelong friends many deem amongst the best players on planet Earth.
