Linda Ronstadt's 'Live In Hollywood' Gets Expanded Re-Release

Linda Ronstadt is set to re-release her live album, Live In Hollywood, through Rhino.com on October 25. This digital remaster will feature all 20 songs from the original 1980 concert, marking the first time the complete performance has been available to fans. Check out a video of “Silver Threads and Golden Needles.”

The 2019 release of Live In Hollywood was a beloved addition to Ronstadt's discography, but it only included 12 tracks from the original show. The upcoming digital release will give fans the opportunity to experience the full scope of Ronstadt's incredible performance with an additional eight songs. Live in Hollywood, featuring audio specifically mastered for streaming services to ensure the best possible quality for the digital listener, will be available for digital purchase and streaming on October 25.

Recorded on April 24, 1980, at Television Center Studios in Hollywood, Live In Hollywood captures Ronstadt at the pinnacle of her career as America's most popular female rock singer. She was joined by a remarkable band that included guitarists Kenny Edwards and Danny Kortchmar, drummer Russ Kunkel, bassist Bob Glaub, keyboardist Billy Payne, pedal steel guitarist Dan Dugmore, and backing vocalist Wendy Waldman. Rounding out the band was Peter Asher, Ronstadt's producer and the concert's executive producer, who played percussion and provided background vocals.

On stage, Ronstadt captivated the packed audience with stunning versions of her biggest hits like "Blue Bayou," "Poor Poor Pitiful Me," and "It's So Easy." The album also features a rousing six-minute jam of her No. 1 smash, "You're No Good"; showcases a trio of Top Ten hits from her current-at-the-time album, Mad Love (her seventh consecutive platinum-selling album): "I Can't Let Go," "How Do I Make You," and "Hurt So Bad," as well as covers of songs by artists such as Elvis Costello, Neil Young, Roy Orbison, and Eagles.
